Apostleship

For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:21

Today, billions of people think that Apostleship is a piece of cake, which is why Apostleship is now invisible unlike before due to the influences that the youth receives, the conflicts in religion that we have in our society, and the doubts of the people if there is a higher being in the first place.

But first, what is Apostleship in the first place?

Apostleship is the act of the apostles being commissioned by the Lord to follow Him. First, they were tasked to follow Jesus’s footsteps and continue the mission that He started. They were tasked to spread the Good Word to the people and heal the sick. Second, they should be able to gather witnesses so that they may see the mission of Jesus being done. Lastly, they were commanded by the Lord to baptize all nations, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. In summary, it was seen as if Jesus drew the picture, and the apostles were the ones who gave it color and meaning.

Now, knowing what apostleship is, why is apostleship so opaque that it is seen invisible in our community today?

In the present, the youth plays a big role in the community, which is why simple influences to them may result in a giant impact. The social media era that we have today may be an important factor affecting the youth. Since everyone is on social media, it is easier for others to spread fake news regarding religion and other important reports to the people. Nowadays, people can manipulate others by the news they spread.

Our society also faces a war in religion. A lot of people are too expressive about their faith that once someone does not agree with their belief, they shoot their guns. Because of this, people are now scared to cite their own opinions about their own beliefs, making them vulnerable since they cannot defend themselves. Also, even the leaders of our government show that they are in conflict with other religions. Knowing this, our society faces several conflicts in religion, which is why a lot of people choose to not get involved, resulting in not finding a band-aid to the wound of our society.

 Millions of people in our country today, mostly the youth, doubts on their beliefs if there really is a higher being in the heavens above. Since most of them are the youth, this shows that many of the young ones we have in the community are deeply burdened and faced with difficulties in their life, given the challenges they have to overcome. Many think that the problems that they face and the difficulty they have in solving them are proof that God doesn’t exist. Although they believe in this, they do not really think that the problems they face are just challenges or tests given by God, and that He is there to guide and accompany you in solving these challenges. In summary, this shows that when the people fight their own demons, they do not realize that God is with them, fighting as well.

In conclusion, this shows that the people who think that apostleship is an easy task are wrong. Actually, apostleship is both a challenge and a journey for all of us, believers. Since apostleship is taken lightly, it is not as evident as before. Overall, this shows that although there are many problems on why apostleship is not taken seriously, we can fight back and defend ourselves by being faithful to God no matter what.
